Should bring that certain something

As expected, 1. FC Köln loses U19 striker Jason Ponente-Ramirez to Karlsruher SC. The second division team announced the signing of the talented striker one day after Effzeh’s defeat in the U19 championship final against TSG Hoffenheim (0-2). According to media reports, Ponente-Ramirez has signed a contract until 2029.
The Cologne team would have wanted to keep their offensive talent, which was the U19’s top scorer with 16 goals last season. Ponente-Ramirez also contributed ten assists in 35 appearances. Instead, the attacker, who Effzeh poached from the Viktoria youth team in 2022, is now looking for his fortune in the professional sector in Karlsruhe on a free transfer.
“Those responsible gave me a very good feeling in the discussions and showed me a clear path. This overall package really appeals to me and I’m really looking forward to playing for the KSC from the new season onwards. I’m a player who always gives everything for the team and wants to develop further every day. I want to be successful together with the club and the fans,” Ponente-Ramirez explained his decision.
Director of professional football Timon Pauls added about the fourth newcomer: “We have been following Jason for a long time and have kept a close eye on his development. He impresses with his joy in the game, his ability to compete and brings out his qualities, especially in offensive one-on-one situations. He has the ability to break up a stagnant game again and again and can give our game that certain something. We are convinced that he can develop ideally with us and get used to the men’s area step by step.”
