On the first Monday of the month, it is often the sirens that scare you at 12 noon, but today your phone will also vibrate at that time. This afternoon is the six-monthly test moment for the NL-Alert.
This warning is tested every first Monday in June and December. The text message that arrives also clearly states that it is a test, so no action needs to be taken.
NL-Alert warns and informs you about emergency situations in your area, for example in the event of a fire or unexpected severe weather. The message explains what is going on and what you need to do to keep yourself and others safe.
Recently sent NL-Alerts occurred, for example, during the fire at the farmhouse in Dwingeloo three weeks ago, or when code red was issued due to extremely slippery conditions at the beginning of this year.
