There are people who would postpone their summer vacation for a Metallica ticket or at least think very seriously about whether they could pay the rent a few days later. And then there are apparently people who sit at Metallica in the Berlin Olympic Stadium and prefer to look for small parts in the online shop of a hardware store during the show.
Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß exposes bored concertgoers
Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß, singer of the Beatsteaks, shared exactly such a scene on Instagram on Saturday evening (May 30th). In the short video, Teutoburg-Weiß sits in the stands behind a concert-goer who is holding his smartphone in his hand during the show. There is no shaky video of James Hetfield or a secret look at the set list, but rather an online shop, apparently from the hardware store segment.
The visitor is bored and clicks through the range, where various rings, metal parts and other practical small parts can be seen. Surely everything is important, except during a Metallica concert? Teutoburg-Weiß simply commented on his amusing observation with a dry Metallica reference: “Nothing else matters.”
There would have been good reasons to put the smartphone aside that evening. Metallica played on their large 360-degree stage amidst the standing fans. In front of around 95,000 people, it was probably the largest concert that has ever taken place in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo showed why they have long been considered a stadium institution. There were hits like “Creeping Death,” “Master of Puppets” and “Enter Sandman,” as well as fireworks and Hetfield’s “German-eeee-yah!”
