France’s new biathlon heroine Lou Jeanmonnot still has many active years ahead of her on the cross-country ski trails and at the shooting range. The two-time Olympic champion already has a concrete plan for the years to come: a switch to the coaching business.
Biathlon overall World Cup winner Lou Jeanmonnot has announced that she wants to pursue a second career as a biathlon coach after her active career.
In a short video posted by the French federation on social media, the 27-year-old said: “I would love to be a shooting coach because I love everything about rifles. It is something I have always enjoyed. Being further involved in it would appeal to me.”
“Do I want to live out of a suitcase again?”
As attractive as a position as a trainer is for the two-time Olympic champion, Jeanmonnot still wants to think about whether this is really the right step for her.
“It will depend on whether I [nach dem Karriereende] want to go back to the World Cup. Do I want to live out of a suitcase again? “I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it yet, but either way, I’ll definitely stay in the sports world,” she said about her future career plans.
However, Jeanmonnot does not have to deal with the question intensively yet. At only 27 years old, the four-time world champion still has a few active years ahead of her in the biathlon circus. Her big goal is the 2030 Olympic Games in the French Alps, where she wants to compete as a face of the Grande Nation and the games.
Before that, Jeanmonnot still has plenty of opportunity to add further success to her already impressive CV. Since her phenomenal rise to the top of the world, things have been going uphill for the Frenchwoman. Quite a few people already see her as the best biathlete in the world. A status that she would like to further consolidate in 2026/27.
