It is a unique sight: not a car, but something completely different in the photo from a flash camera. An older woman with her walker. According to the speed camera, she flew past at 42 kilometers per hour. She just walked past the pole at a perfect time.
At the beginning of May, the police in Euskirchen, Germany, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, conducted a speed check in a 30 kilometer zone. The camera recorded someone driving 12 kilometers per hour too fast. In the photo: the woman with the walker.
Funny mistake
In reality, a van was speeding behind her, but because she was walking in front of the vehicle, she herself came into view. The police can laugh about it. “At the first moment it almost seemed as if the lady had just set a new speed record with her walker or wanted to personally compete against Usain Bolt,” the police wrote on Facebook.
Unfortunately for the officers: due to the woman’s perfect timing, the real speed devil cannot be traced. It is positioned exactly so that the license plate is completely covered. Lucky for the motorist.
The police emphasize that speeding is always dangerous, especially in zones where a maximum speed of 30 kilometers per hour is allowed. ‘Even a few kilometers per hour too fast can be crucial in an emergency and significantly extend the braking path.’
