Novak Djokovic, the number 3 seed, was eliminated from the second grand slam tennis tournament of the season, French Open (Roland Garros), losing 3-2 to Brazilian Joao Fonseca.


On the 6th day of the tournament held in Paris, the capital of France, 39-year-old Djokovic, aiming for the 25th grand slam championship of his career, faced 19-year-old Brazilian racket Joao Fonseca (28).


Djokovic, who took a 2-0 lead with 6-4 sets in the match played on the Philippe-Chatrier court, said goodbye to the tournament by losing 3-2 to his opponent with 6-3, 7-5 and 7-5 sets.


Czech Jakub Mensik (26) got his ticket to the 4th round by beating Australian Alex De Minaur (8) 3-1 with sets of 0-6, 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3.


In women’s category, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (7) advanced to the round by beating German Tamara Korpatsch 2-0 with sets of 6-2, 6-3.
