Hamburger SV is the sixth German club to reach 150,000 members. The Rothosen will celebrate this milestone with a multi-day campaign, which includes, among other things, a 1,870 square meter banner in the port of Hamburg. The first names of all 150,000 members were included.
“This number shows how deeply HSV affects people in Hamburg and far beyond,” said club president Henrik Köncke. “150,000 members make HSV one of the strongest communities in German sport. They are the heart of our club and make a significant contribution to our positive development.”
With this number, HSV is one of the six clubs with the largest number of members in Germany. Record champions FC Bayern Munich are at the top with 432,500 members and are only surpassed worldwide by Benfica Lisbon (440,000). In Germany, Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04 follow with over 200,000 members, while Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Köln are just ahead of HSV.
