Jan Smit is not amused when he is asked in front of the SBS 6 camera about Lale Gül, who becomes quite wild with him. “Is that the neighbor with the cake and those bare tits?”
Lately there has been a lot of publicity surrounding Jan Smit: not only is he going through a divorce, he is also constantly receiving all kinds of public flirts from Lale Gül and he has a wild neighbor who wants to stand naked at his door. We hardly hear Jan about it ourselves, but yesterday he had to speak to the press at the Toppers press day.
Out of the wind
Celebrity expert Bart Ettekoven did not expect much from it. “We actually all knew what the answers were going to be, because we also knew that the other men would keep Jan out of the wind a bit, that they would then get away with a certain joke,” he tells the desk of Show news.
“And that was a real in-depth interview about the divorce between him and Liza that was announced in March, which was not possible, but Jan does say something about it and also lets us know that the men are really of great support.”
On my feet
Jan indeed keeps a low profile. “Yes, of course. They keep me going. It’s also nice to have something to look forward to.”
The reporter: “How are you?”
Jan: “I’m doing well. Yes.”
His Toppers colleagues then start shouting all kinds of things. The reporter: “Because you don’t want to say much about it?”
Jan: “No, if I want to say something about it, you will hear it.”
Question about Lale
Gerard Joling then intervenes. “Of course you had to ask him that question. We understand that. No: Jan looks good, he sings well and we are proud of him, as always. Really.”
The reporter speaks to Jan again: “Then I would also like to ask about Lale Gül. How did it end?”
So Jan isn’t looking forward to that either. “Well, those are all questions that I’m not going to answer.”
Gerard: “Is that the neighbor with the cake and those bare tits?”
Jan laughs: “No, that’s something else.”
Jeroen: “What’s up with that?! She’s nice too, right?! What’s her name again?”
‘So nice!’
Dyantha Brooks thinks it’s great that Jan is able to brush off her colleague’s questions in this way. “It’s so nice that you’re not alone in front of the camera. Then there’s no one to keep you out of the wind.”
RTL Boulevard reporter Aran Bade is a bit annoyed about that. He says in the competing show section: “Of course, it doesn’t quite work out that way. Ultimately, it’s just news when such a big star gets divorced!”
