Campione d’Italia’s PokerStars Live Room is always active. If there are no Festivals such as Open, IPM or ISOP, you still have to play according to the weekly events calendar which however is very useful for participating in the key monthly events. Here is the situation of the ranking that the Italian Championships are up for grabs
There are satellites but not only. To participate in the Main Events of the various Festivals in a more “economical” way, you either go through a qualifying tournament or thanks to particular rankings. This is the case of the “Road to Italian Championships” which offers tickets and game credits as prizes
PLAY “NORMALLY” AND WIN THE MAIN
—
We have often talked in this section about the different ways to participate in a big tournament without breaking the bank. The cheapest of all is obviously the freeroll. No expenses and maximum return, in case of winning obviously. Then there are the satellites. You pay a low entry fee and can win the equivalent of the cost of the Main Event. Let’s remember that in the Campione d’Italia there are now always the stack satellites (we talked about it here). If you think that strong players don’t try the “cheap” route, you are sadly mistaken. Precisely for long-term budget considerations, various “regs” do not disdain “sats”. While it is true that most recreational players play few events, the pro is almost always present. You understand that between food costs and tournament buy-ins, the outlay is not to be underestimated and winning a satellite is also good for your wallet. However, there is another way to get to the Mains of the various circuits (almost) for free: the ranking. Let’s take the example of the PokerStars Room in Campione which regularly organizes weekly tournaments. They are played normally, with prizepools and paid positions so we sit at the table to play a tournament like many others. However, the placement counts for the general ranking which usually lasts at least 3 weeks. And the prizes are juicy
“ROAD TO ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS”: THE SITUATION
—
In view of the finals of the Italian Championships which will occupy the first two weeks of June, in Campione we will fight for the Main Event for free but not only. The beauty of the rankings is that not only the first person wins but the prize money is spread over several positions and even the “consolation” prizes are coveted. As mentioned, every week the calendar includes tournaments that will form the final ranking. The programming must also be kept an eye on because of the “double points”.” that is, those tournaments that have a double multiplier in terms of the points you take home in the event of victory or placement. There isn’t much left until the games close. In the lead is Francesco Gritti with 108 points but the distance between the top three is not much and everything, obviously, can change overnight
