The father of singer Mart Hoogkamer was arrested on Whit Monday after a police manhunt, in which a helicopter was also deployed. Did the two then call each other?
Mart Hoogkamer’s father, Mart senior (52), and his partner Natasja (52) are suspected of threatening a woman in Leiden with a firearm or a fake pistol. “Mart and Natasja thought they should still get money from that woman. They came to the door to demand it,” says an eyewitness in The Telegraph.
Drink and drugs
They eventually fled, prompting the police to deploy several vehicles and a helicopter. How did things get so out of hand? “I think it’s about drink and drugs, and that applies to both,” the local resident continues in the newspaper.
The loving couple lived in her rental house until recently. “They have now been evicted there. That was also quite a story. The windows were smashed there at one point and her car was also completely destroyed on the street.”
What does Mart think?
How does Mart experience all this? “It is yet another chapter in the problems surrounding Mart’s father. We all know that Mart has had no contact with his father for a long time, or at least has minimal contact with his father,” says celebrity expert Bart Ettekoven in Show news.
Presenter Dyantha Brooks: “He has tried to help his father before, right?”
Bart: “Yes, he even sent him to rehab once or tried to get him, he said.”
Difficult
It is difficult, says Bart. “We also all know that at his last Ahoy concert he still hoped that he would be there with his father, because it is a huge milestone in his career and he is incredibly proud that he can be there. But his father was not present at the time, so we know that that relationship is difficult.”
“We spoke to Mart briefly and he said: ‘It’s terrible. I don’t know what’s good about it, but I’m very sorry to hear that he’s not doing well.’”
