Disney and Philips slaan de hands in elkaar om Disney behavior te integrated in MRI scans. The children’s favorites are animated figures and children can receive treatment.
The Walt Disney Company and Philips Technology Services confirmed that the Disney characters will be integrated into the Philips Ambient Experience for MRI scans. This is a project in zo’n 87 landen world wide, also in Belgium.
Intimidating treatment
For young children, their MRI scans are a great tool. A large, open machine that can be used for a long time in around 40 minutes, with work for many children and others in an intimate way. In sommige patients, the fear of themselves is so great that the sedation in the same manner is in the same way.
Philips and Disney are now experimenting with animation in a clinical educational program for children. With scanners, lighting, sound and animation figures with MRI-commanding and “rustgevende en vertrouwde ervaring” were made for children to see in their own way, like Disney.
The partners were involved in a multi-center study, based in the largest area in Europe with the Ambient Experience with Disney theme, and the children from 6 to 10 years of age in the scan achieved 43 percent less stress before the other product. The maximum amount is 63 percent.
Gevoel van vertrouwdheid
For the project, the original Disney animations were created, based on the work of illustrator Joey Chou. “Toen Disney me vroeg hun personages naar a ziekenhuisomgeving te vertalen, was dat a fantastic uitdaging,” says Chou. “As my design is a child of lesser importance, I have a lot of freedom on my smaller day, of confidence when the hardest thing is necessary, I believe that everything is for me.”
