National financial watchdogs such as the Dutch AFM will have to leave part of their duties to the European supervisory authority ESMA, if it is up to a leading group of six European countries. Six European countries, including the Netherlands, that want to speed up the capital market union, agreed on this in Berlin on Thursday.
