Enzo Bouillet has had exciting months. After the young biathlete was nominated for his first Junior Cup in December, he shone with a second place in the mass start in Goms and a subsequent victory in the relay in Martell-Val Martello. This is how the 19-year-old assesses his winter.
“It was really a first for me,” Enzo Bouillet remembered his first race in an interview with “Nordic Magazine”: “I went there to gain new experiences and have fun.” He “didn’t put too much pressure on himself” and then “realized that the results were pretty good.”
Physically, however, the ski hunter clearly felt the change in stress. “I was completely exhausted after six races in less than ten days,” Bouillet admitted. So much so that he was unable to build on his previous performances and was subsequently unable to secure a ticket for the U21 World Championships on Arber.
A setback for Bouillet, for whom things had previously been almost all uphill. “I missed out on podium places mainly because of my shooting performance,” he summed up self-critically.

But the talented biathlete shook himself briefly, took a break to think and then started at the French championships in Peisey-Vallandry, where he promptly won two victories in the sprint and pursuit.
For Bouillet, it was a crucial moment in his career, as this success earned him a place in the renowned “Excellence 2030” support group for the 2026/2027 season. He made a lasting impression on the national association.
“That was really the big goal of the season, and being accepted into the group is just huge,” said the 19-year-old happily. For him, this is “more than just another stage”.
And things are slowly getting serious: this week the youngster will get to know his new team at the first preparatory training camp, which is taking place in Premanon.
