A 32-year-old woman had a nightmare in Rome. She was kidnapped, drugged and held for three days in an abandoned building, where she was gang-raped several times. Finally, she fled into the street, half-naked.
The woman (32), of Colombian descent, was approached at a restaurant on May 19 by a man who offered her hashish. She had already been in the city for about ten days. The man persuaded her to walk to a van to complete the drug delivery. There she was forcibly pushed into the van. From that moment on the nightmare began.
The van took her to an abandoned squat on Via Cesare Tallone, in a suburb of Rome. She was held there under constant death threats.
Raped for 36 hours
According to police, the woman was given drugs. In that condition, she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by five men, who took turns for 36 hours.
The horror did not end until the third day. During another attack, the victim managed to escape. She ran into the street half-naked and begged a passerby for help, who immediately called the emergency services.
The woman was taken to a hospital in shock. There, doctors found traces of abuse. “There are clear signs of violence that indicate coercion and the use of narcotics,” the police report.
Police raid
After the report and based on the woman’s statements, the police launched a large-scale operation. A police unit raided the squat. Five suspected perpetrators have been arrested. Eleven other residents of the building are being deported.
