Leontine Ruiters (58) and her daughter Jada Borsato (23) were involved in a serious traffic accident in Ibiza last Sunday. Marco Borsato’s ex-wife shared this on Instagram on Wednesday. A motorist collided head-on with the taxi the two were in, after which mother and daughter had to stay in hospital for several days.
The 58-year-old ex-wife of singer Marco Borsato shares her story ‘to prevent this story from taking on a life of its own with inaccuracies’. According to her, a driver “drove the wrong way into the roundabout under the influence and then ended up on our side of the road, which resulted in a head-on collision with our taxi.”
Ruiters states that she and her daughter suffered ‘several injuries’ and were also admitted to hospital. They have now been fired and are doing ‘well considering the circumstances’.
It is an intense event
Ruiters and her daughter realize that the situation ‘could have been much more serious’ and is therefore ‘grateful that the accident did not have fatal consequences’. “It is a serious event and something we will have to deal with in the near future,” she writes.
Ruiters further thanks all the emergency services and medical staff who have helped and supported her and her daughter in recent days. She also asks for ‘peace, space and privacy’ to process and recover from the event.
