Boldt is often linked to other clubs by the press, but in the end he ends up nowhere. Only HSV was stupid enough to take him and it’s no coincidence that promotion happened when Boldt was gone and Kuntz was in charge.
What a comment. The main thing is to write something…
Refute me on the content.
The fact is: in all the years with Boldt, HSV has NOT managed to get promoted, despite having the highest budget in League 2.
OK. First of all, the one thing you’re trying to sell as fact is a very clear untruth. HSV had exactly twice the highest personnel expenses (for me the key figure, because in the end more money in players = better team). Once in 22/23 and once in 20/21. (In 18/19 they were basically on a par with Cologne, but Boldt wasn’t at HSV yet)
Of course you were always at the top, but actually In fact, in 5 years Boldt has not had the highest personnel costs 3 times.
Source: dfl financial figures (Be careful when looking: numbers are always 2 years later, i.e. division into leagues can sometimes be a bit misleading.)
Connection to other clubs: Can you please list which clubs have actually been in contact with him? I can actually only remember Hertha.
Personnel: When it comes to promotion, some important names that came under Boldt should be mentioned (selection): Reis, Muheim, Meffert, Königsdörffer, Costa, Polzin, Fave, Chiara Behrens de Luna (psychologist). Of course, you can’t say exactly who he has what part of, but there is a lot of Boldt in the promotion, but that should actually be undisputed.
And the question of unrest: There were a few possible sources of unrest under Boldt: Jatta, Vuskovic, Wüstfeld, which often became major issues in earlier years, but were always managed quite professionally at that time.
Of course not everything was good under Boldt, but to claim that you weren’t promoted just because of Boldt is complete nonsense and then to describe a clearly verifiable false statement as a fact says a lot more about you than about Boldt.
I think 96 could certainly have done a lot worse, especially since Hannover isn’t always the quietest environment, but I actually had it in the back of my mind that Boldt didn’t want to take on any sporting responsibility at first. Maybe I’m just confusing it with HSV, where he probably doesn’t want to come back for the time being.
