Moorslede focuses on seating routes for less mobile people
Moorslede is working on the project together with the residential care centers in the municipality. According to Benedikt Vallaey, alderman for Care and Welfare, the benches are not only intended to provide peace of mind, but it is also the intention that people meet on the benches. “It is very important to get those people out of isolation as well,” it sounds.
“Rest Rust”
Marleen Boulangier of wzc Maria’s Restoord in Dadizele: “Rest rusts, as we say. Moving and maintaining movement is super important and we as a residential care center also want to focus on that.” The walks start and stop at the residential care centers, but anyone can do the walks.
Local resident Alain is already enjoying it: “When we go for a walk, it’s easy that you can go from couch to couch, that you can sit there. I’m 67 and I also enjoy going for a walk.”
Schepen Valleay is already thinking further and would like to place a pictogram with an exercise at every bank. “For example, hold on to the bench and bend the knees ten or twenty times, or do a spin with the arms.”
