Angela Groothuizen no longer wants to participate in television talk shows, because she fears she will immediately end up in a snake pit. “Then I have to find something by Johan Derksen again.”

Seven years ago, Angela Groothuizen caused some controversy by revealing that she is very much into open relationships, and that she and her lover love to swing. “I’m not really in favor of it myself. I would quickly become jealous and think: what is happening?”, Aran Bade commented in RTL Boulevard, for example.

“Take her with you!”

Anyway: nowadays Angela is very open about her liberal form of relationship and now she has given a whole interview about it, namely in The Telegraph. She is also enjoying dating herself. “There are also men who have an open relationship, just like Rob and I have always had. I now also know the woman of one of my regular dates.”

Doesn’t Angela feel like a concubine? No, she says. “Take her with you, I told him. We had a great evening and laughed a lot together.”

Not on talk shows

Anyway: Angela is nice and open, but why do we never see her on talk shows anymore? “I no longer attend talk shows. Then I am invited to talk about my new theater show, but I have to find something about Johan Derksen who said something crazy.”

She continues: “Then you give your opinion and then you are declared dead online by all kinds of people. I don’t feel like it anymore. Then I can say that I don’t care, but it does interest me.”

Nasty things

Angela does not want to go along with the VI culture of criticism. “I don’t want to get used to that mentality that it is normal to say nasty things about others. I also think that you should remain vulnerable and take it to heart.”

“In summary: I enjoy the privilege that I no longer have to and have learned to say no better and better.”
