Michael Kleinschrodt is attacked and robbed in Stuttgart after the SG Sonnenhof Großaspach cup coup. Now he talks about it in an interview. The Kickers also take a stand.

The footballer Michael Kleinschrodt from SG Sonnenhof Großaspach, who was attacked and robbed after the state cup final, commented on the incident in a video on Saturday evening. The 30-year-old told SWR that he was walking with his parents across the parking lot at the Waldau stadium after Großaspacher’s victory over Stuttgarter Kickers (4-1). There were around 100 people standing there and he had an “uneasy feeling”.

“Then all of a sudden I hear screaming, I look over my left shoulder and then I see people running towards me, screaming,” Kleinschrodt said. Then he ran off. “I saw people coming from the right who were hitting me and kicking me. Then at some point I was able to free myself.” His father also later told him that he was in pain. “He tried to defend me.” This is particularly painful for him.

The cup final between the two Swabian regional league teams had already been overshadowed by an interruption in the game. Supporters of the hosts wanted to storm onto the pitch shortly before the end and threw objects onto the lawn. Both teams had to go into the dressing room for a few minutes before the match could be ended.

The Stuttgarter Kickers condemned the incidents in a club statement. “Violence, intimidation and personal attacks have no place in football,” the club wrote. “The scenes surrounding the cup final do not in any way correspond to the values of our club.” The incidents should be examined in detail.
