Bibico is an ethical women’s fashion brand from the UK that aims to create beautiful and simple clothing that makes women feel good, is kind to the planet and empowers the people who make the clothes.
origins
Nieves Ruiz Ramos founded Bibico in 2007. Ramos originally comes from Spain, but completed her fashion studies in France. Shortly after, she moved back to Spain to work for fast fashion retailer Zara.
“I was totally disappointed by the fast pace and throwaway culture of the fashion industry. That’s when I decided to start Bibico and prove to the fashion world that a more ethical and sustainable approach to fashion is possible,” Nieves Ruiz Ramos told the label’s website.
evolution
Bibico develops two collections a year and manufactures in small quantities so as not to pollute too much. The label stands for the fact that its customers can wear the clothes again and again.
Often handmade, the brand’s garments are made by artisans in India, Nepal and Italy. To protect the planet, Bibico also pays attention to sustainable packaging and shipping methods.
Bibico attaches great importance to a trusting, respectful and friendly relationship with its suppliers and manufacturers. For this reason, two of its most important craft businesses are members of the World Fair Trade Organization, which works for a fairer world.
Current
Today, Bibico’s clothing and accessories products are available throughout the UK, Europe, Canada and the United States and the rest of the world.
