The disagreements in the FC Bayern executive suite surrounding the won DFB Cup final are once again coming to the fore. Things have been going on behind the scenes for a long time.

According to “kicker”, FC Bayern “has not been a unit for several months”, despite the sporting success in the past season with the double and numerous record marks.

In recent months, the specialist magazine has repeatedly reported on the internal dissent on Säbener Straße, including an allegedly strained relationship between sports director Max Eberl and sports director Christoph Freund.

Eberl is viewed critically, especially on the FC Bayern supervisory board. In a much-discussed “Spiegel” interview, honorary president Uli Hoeneß put the chances of a contract extension with the former Gladbach and Leipzig manager beyond 2027 at just “60 to 40”.

The club patron explained: “There are still doubts. I don’t want to go into details now, I’ll leave that to our discussion in the supervisory board.”

FC Bayern: Eberl decision in August

A decision in the Eberl case is expected at the committee meeting in August. Then, according to Hoeneß, it must be assessed “whether Max Eberl is the manager who should lead FC Bayern into the future.”

“Bild” reported again that Eberl was accused by FC Bayern’s control committee of acting too quickly and prematurely in transfer issues, as well as a lack of consultation with the club’s grandees.

They hope that the 52-year-old will act as a tough negotiator in personnel discussions in the future. According to the bosses, Eberl has a problem with the culture of debate at FC Bayern and also takes cell phone-free breaks too often.

Eberl appeared “surprised” by Hoeneß’s statements on “ARD”. He explained: “The doubts are there – apparently. Otherwise he wouldn’t have said that.”
