According to media reports, sports director Sven Mislintat has to leave Fortuna Düsseldorf. This was decided by the supervisory board of the second division relegated team, reported “Sky”. The 53-year-old’s contract was terminated by mutual agreement. “Bild” also reported on it. The separation from Mislintat will be announced on Sunday.
Mislintat only came to Fortuna last December.
“This changes everything,” the manager said after the 3-0 defeat on the last matchday in Fürth. He also previously worked as an official at Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart, among others.
At the beginning of the week, Mislintat spoke in detail in a media round about the plans after the fall to the 3rd league: “I’m not the one who will leave when the relegation occurs – on the contrary, then I’ll be there even more.” According to Sky and “Bild” information, the successor candidate at the traditional club is Samir Arabi (most recently Arminia Bielefeld).
