Many people choose a trip to the fun suit during the Pentecost weekend. There has been a lot of commotion in recent weeks about the Plopsa traffic jams. Coastal tourism is running at full speed and Plopsaland is adding to that in De Panne.
Wim Janssens, mayor of De Panne: “Today one facet is being rolled out whereby traffic from the E40 is routed via Veurne at times of too much traffic jam. This is being applied again today and we see that there are no very long traffic jams anywhere. There are also no traffic jams on shortcuts at the moment, because certain roads have been closed via Google Maps. There are signs that you are not allowed to enter, but local people can pass through.”
There is great annoyance among those who live near Plopsaland. Mobility in and around Adinkerke is a complex problem. The distribution plan is a short-term solution.
Wim Janssens, mayor of De Panne: “It will consist of various facets. We will manage digitally so that people take the right road to De Panne or Plopsaland. In addition, we foresee investments in the public domain by the Flemish government or privately by Plopsaland and commitments have already been made there. This means that improvements will be made step by step.”
