Out of nowhere: Hull leads in the 230 million game

A promotion to the Premier League brings with it many millions in TV money. Two clubs are still fighting for the last ticket.
The Premier League is the financially strongest league in the world. Anyone who plays here gets hundreds of millions of euros. Around 230 million euros are guaranteed from TV money and sponsorship contracts, because even in the event of direct relegation there would be a “rescue package” that should protect the clubs from a crash. But so far only two promoted teams have been confirmed: Ipswich and Coventry. One place is still open. Hull City and Middlesbrough play each other at a sold-out Wembley Stadium.

82nd minute: Hull hits a ball rather uninspiredly onto the back post. The cross looks far too long, but Dowell brings the ball under control, turns quickly and finishes from a tight angle. The ball just misses. Almost the lead.
76th minute: Both teams now make several changes. Maybe that will bring some fresh air into the game.
69th minute: There’s another drinking break in warm London.
64th minute: Middlesbrough shows brilliant passing game. Unfortunately, most passes go across and not forward.
55th minute: The game is now noticeably falling asleep again. Once Strelec almost appeared dangerous in front of the box again, but Hull was just able to defend it. Nothing more is happening right now.
48th minute: The ball rolls again and it starts immediately with two corners for Middlesbrough. After the second attempt, Fry hits the ball with his head, but his attempt is a little too high.
45th minute +3: Now Middlesbrough are getting closer to the box again. Strelec leaves two opponents standing and shoots from a good 18 meters. The ball goes just past the right. Then the referee blows his whistle for the break.
45th minute: Now Hull is suddenly awake. The cross from the left sails into the penalty area and McBurnie gets his head on the ball in the six-yard box. From there the ball crashes into the top edge of the crossbar. That was close.
43rd minute: Oops! The doorbell almost rang. Belloumi simply takes a shot from almost 20 meters and just misses the Middlesbrough box.
