The fire brigade received a call around 11 a.m. for a fire in Honoré Borgersstraat in Ostend. On site it turned out to be a serious house fire. The fire was quickly brought under control, but the affected floor was declared uninhabitable.
In addition, an attendee was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the victim did not sustain any serious injuries.
The Bruges department of the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office sent a fire expert to the scene to investigate the precise circumstances.
