Lorena Wiebes has booked her second stage victory in the Tour of Burgos. Just like the day before, the Dutch champion of SD Worx – Protime was the best after 122 kilometers in the sprint of the second stage from Castrojeriz to Bodega Viña Pedrosa.
On the ascending finish line, Wiebes stayed ahead of Italy’s Elisa Balsamo and Ally Wollaston from Australia.
With her second stage victory, Wiebes strengthened her leading position in the general classification. The Tour of Burgos lasts until Sunday.
It was the ninth victory of this season for the 27-year-old Wiebes. It was the fifteenth victory for her team this year.
