RTL Nieuws has made an incredible fuss about it: the new studio that was put into use yesterday. The makers of the news program are apparently so happy with it internally that they present it as if it were breaking news Re. In the meantime, viewers and critics are not really impressed: what is actually innovative about that new studio?

Eye pain

One Yako is critical. “Hahahahahaha years of waiting and a year of emergency studio. Postponement, postponement and yet another postponement… Oh yes and another postponement… and then this is the result? 😂😂😂 Man, man, this is the deception of 2026… this could have been done in three months?”, he says. X.

Lady Duck doesn’t like this at all either. “Wow, what a bright blue color. You need sunglasses, otherwise it just hurts your eyes.”

Tre tight frame

Mr. Peter is also dissatisfied. “The new studio is not yet showing its full potential. The frame is too narrow, I think a more spatial image is quite possible.”

What does TV critic Victor Vlam think? He also writes on

Static

Niels, a follower of Victor, sees many missed opportunities in the new decor. “It’s a pity that they are still those static images. Fixed image with presenter(s) in front of a photo. I had hoped that there would be more movement in the camera images. The new cameras are suitable for that! And certainly the new crane camera. See how VTM does this.”

One Bas is moderately positive. “It takes a little getting used to that beginning, on top of each other’s lips. Other than that, a nice adjustment indeed.”

Kitchen unit

TV authority Tina Nijkamp is downright critical. “Ohhh yes! Ohh, have you seen it? It’s like a neon box. It’s like a kitchen unit,” she says in Today Inside.

Wilfred Genee: “It’s that bad?”

Tina: “Well, I don’t think it’s good.”

Johan Derksen: “They borrowed the lighting from the Red Light District? This doesn’t really look attractive.”

Tina: “Yes, it really is one big neon box, but the bad thing is: you think whatever, but they have been working on this for two years, they have made documentaries about it, about its creation.”

To soap

Johan is critical of RTL. “Isn’t it true that they also ruined that talk show with that crazy decor? They don’t know anything about decors there!”

Tina: “No, and they make it way too important!”

Johan: “At RTL they invest all their money in sets, but they would be better off investing the money in the right people.”

Tina finally: “Yes, and don’t pretend that such a setting is very important. Then I think: you are emphasizing the wrong things. It is better to put it in good reporters, good investigative editing, that kind of thing.”
