There is quite a lot to do about Frans Bauer’s weight. The folk singer has gained quite a few kilos again and according to Nieuwe Revu that is quite unhealthy. “It’s because of his metabolism.”

The magazine Nieuwe Revu has really launched an attack on the beloved folk singer Frans Bauer. The magazine portrayed him as a fat and arrogant guy, but he is not a little bit not done to treat that poor man like that? Maybe he can’t help it that he has gained so much weight and it just happens to him.

Jojo Bauer

Nutritionist Bea Pols, better known as Sonja Bakker’s arch enemy, points out that Frans is a yo-yo. “He has been trying to lose weight more often in the past. He has talked about this himself, including in his soaps. He has periods of healthier living, losing weight and dieting, but then he goes back to snacking.”

She continues in the leaf: “I don’t know him personally, so I can’t possibly say why that happens to him. In general, artists often have an enormous amount of stress and a very irregular life. This of course also applies to Frans Bauer, who mainly performs in the evening and at night, comes home and then has dinner.”

Metabolism

That food is processed much less well just before going to sleep, Bea explains. “Because the body is already biologically and hormonally resting. Age also plays a role. As you get older, your metabolism naturally slows down. Then you gain weight faster than twenty years ago.”

Frans is currently 52 years old. “And if you then have a lot of stress, live irregularly and have little regularity in sleep and nutrition, losing weight becomes extremely difficult.”

Explosive

Does French help you to be more energetic on stage? “Exercise is good. But if someone is very overweight and jumps and dances very explosively on a stage, this naturally overloads the joints, heart and circulation.”

“If I could give him one piece of advice, I would say: try to take it easy and pay attention to your weight.”
