Vesa Keskinen admits that he is guilty of aggravated drunk driving, but denies the crime of drug use.

Vesa Keskinen denies the crime of drug use. Pasi Liesimaa/IL

Entrepreneur Vesa Keski is accused of aggravated drunk driving and the crime of drug use, the village merchant admits the charges to Iltalehti by phone.

Vesa Keskinen was the first to report on the charges Helsingin Sanomat.

According to HS, the charges were brought on April 1 in the district court of South Ostrobothnia and the suspected acts took place on November 11, 2025 in Alavuu.

He admits to being guilty of aggravated drunk driving, but denies the crime of drug use.

– At least I personally don’t know that I have ever used drugs in my life, he says.

Keskinen says that three days before the suspected crime, he went to the hospital because of a head injury, which was stitched up. During the hospital visit, he received a sedative. He estimated that the substance was probably Diapam.

– It was then reflected in the stupid act that happened a few days later.

The village shopkeeper says he blew into the breathalyzer with readings of 1.23 per thousand. The limit for aggravated drunk driving in Finland is 1.2 parts per thousand.

– It hurts (blowing) a bit on the outrageousness, but I suffered what is given by law.

Keskinen’s driver’s license has been on the shelf since the incident.

– I haven’t driven a car for six months now and maybe that’s the right solution.

The police stopped Keskinen while he was on his way home from the village shop. According to the merchant, there was very little travel.

– I could very well have walked.

He considers the act stupid and regrets the effects it causes on the movement of the whole family.

– Since the age is over fifty, however, it’s a stupid thing to do, he says.

Keskinen says that he is satisfied with the police’s actions.

– This is by no means an uplifting thing, but specifically something that makes me very humble, he states.
