AUGSBURG (dpa-AFX) – “Augsburger Allgemeine” on the debate about the eight-hour working day:

“Working a little longer than the set-in-stone eight hours on four days a week and having an additional day off – what would be wrong with that? Trade unions and employers, the SPD and the Union should now quickly put away the big verbal clubs and find solutions that everyone can live with by the summer. And really in the spirit of the sustainable social partnership, which has repeatedly ensured social balance in the past decades and has still kept the economy able to act. The holy cow eight-hour day, she doesn’t have to be brutally slaughtered. But if the government doesn’t manage to at least lead them away from the reform intersection, they’ve failed.”/yyzz/DP/he
