The explosion took place around 10:30 PM, at the same house where a loud bang sounded the day before. Presumably, both cases involved heavy fireworks. The police say in a press release that the damage to the house is limited. They do not yet want to say whether there is a connection between the two explosions.
An attack also took place in the street at the end of last year, in which an explosive went off and several bullets were fired at a house. Two 17-year-old suspects from Alkmaar were arrested at the beginning of this year for their possible role in those attacks.
The police are investigating the case and are calling on witnesses and people with camera images to come forward.
