Why did the health insurance funds and the RIZIV withhold an “explosive” study on long-term ill people for years? The study, which HLN previously reported, showed that 59 percent of the long-term sick people surveyed were able to work. Nevertheless, the Supreme Council of Physician Directors decided that this research could not be made public. “A witch hunt must not be unleashed,” states the meeting report that was leaked yesterday during a hearing in Parliament. The pressure on the health insurance funds from the government parties is increasing.
