Last week it became clear that 117 workers and employees will lose their jobs. At the end of last year, Alstom’s French management announced after a special works council that it wanted to cut several jobs. Since then, unions and management have been negotiating according to the rules of the Renault Act. The train builder previously missed out on a large train order from the NMBS, which joined forces with the Spanish CAF. This means there is a lot less work.
