This concerns passenger flight FR7665 of the Ryanair company, which flew from Warsaw, Poland to Leeds in England. On the way to its destination, the plane issued an emergency message, after which it had to divert to Schiphol.

According to a Schiphol spokesperson, the emergency notification was due to a ‘medical situation’ on board. The plane has now landed safely on the Buitenveldert runway and emergency services are present. An air ambulance also flew above Schiphol for some time. This one eventually left again.

No delays for other flights

Other flights would not have been delayed by this emergency landing at the airport, the spokesperson said. Travelers can resume their flights later tonight.

Neither Schiphol nor the Kennemerland Safety Region can say what exactly was going on on board.
