Sirens, a police car and then a huge crash on the Franselei: how could the accident with the 6-year-old boy happen?

A school trip to the theater ended in a drama on Antwerp’s Franselei on Monday morning. First there were sirens and flashing lights. Seconds later, a 6-year-old boy was grabbed at a crosswalk by a police car chasing a possibly drunk driver. “We saw how the boy ended up under the car,” says eyewitness Jesse Boeckxstaens (16).
