Widow of VTM NIEUWS journalist takes part in a program for people who have lost their partner: “We asked each other the question: would you rather die or be left behind?”

“I’m doing this for Wouter.” Starting today, you can watch ‘Heal my heart’ on VTM GO+, the program in which Ruth Beeckmans helps five young widows and widowers to open themselves up to love again. One of them is Jozefien (39), the wife of VTM journalist Wouter De Boer, who died in 2024 from a brain tumor. She mainly wants to make it a tribute. “His last words were: ‘Make something of it.’ That’s what I try to do.”
