Liverpool have unveiled an image of a memorial at Anfield football stadium in memory of the late Liverpool player Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva. The brothers died in a car accident in Spain last July.

“The memorial celebrates their lives, their bond and the love and respect that family, teammates and supporters around the world feel for them,” coach Arne Slot’s club writes in a statement on the website.

The monument will be named ‘Forever 20’, referring to the Portuguese attacker’s shirt number, which is no longer used by Liverpool after his death.

The monument is in the shape of a heart, in which the jersey numbers of both brothers (20 and 30) can be seen from different angles. Silva played at the second level in Portugal. “The statue will also include personal references that reflect Diogo’s life outside of football,” the club said.

It is not yet known when the memorial will be officially unveiled.
