A car ended up in a ditch on the Googweg in Muiderberg this morning around 6.45 am. The driver, a 26-year-old man from Weesp, first knocked over a tree and then ended up with the car on its side in the water. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The motorist climbed out of the vehicle himself and did not have to be taken to hospital after being checked by ambulance personnel. The man was taken to the police station. His driver’s license has been confiscated and a report has been drawn up for driving under the influence.
