Mortgage interest deduction not untouched, right? ‘This is becoming a serious problem’

By agreeing to leave the mortgage interest deduction ‘unchanged’, D66, VVD and CDA had hoped to park the politically charged subject for the coming years. But the subject soon resurfaces. A possible expansion is on the table this summer and next week a sensitive report will be released about a possible billion-dollar hole in the treasury if the government leaves the deduction unchanged.
