The VfB women complete their march from the Oberliga to the Bundesliga. A 4-1 win against Wolfsburg on the penultimate matchday sealed promotion.
With a 4-1 win against VfL Wolfsburg, the women of VfB Stuttgart secured promotion to the Bundesliga on the penultimate matchday. It is the club’s first first division participation in the club’s history.
Coach Nico Schneck’s team can no longer be pushed out of the first two places in the table. The VfB women laid the foundation stone in 2022 – back then they started in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. The path to the top began with the first ascent in 2024, and now the third ascent in a row has followed.
Mainz 05 and SC Sand will fight for the second promotion spot next Sunday. Both teams are in second and third place with 52 points each.
