Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam has been linked with the possibility of a move to FC Bayern several times in the past. Now the Dutchman has confirmed that he could face a change of scenery in the summer.

“It’s no longer a secret that clubs are watching me and that a change could be in the summer. I don’t want to keep that secret either,” said Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam on Sunday after his club’s 1-1 draw against AZ Alkmaar, according to “ESPN”.

However, the 19-year-old qualified: “But I haven’t decided yet, so I’m still under contract with Feyenoord. It could very well have been my last home game, but I don’t want to say that too early.”

In April, Sky reported that Read would continue to arouse Bayern’s interest, but that an exchange was said to have stalled.

Probably also because the TV station claims to have learned that Feyenoord is demanding a transfer fee in the region of 30 million euros. A sum that you will not take lightly on Säbener Straße.

Injury slowed down FC Bayern’s flirtation

Especially since the right-back has only been able to prove in 2024/25 that he can play a key role in the team from Rotterdam. In the current season, Read prepared three goals in 15 league appearances and scored one goal, but a thigh injury kept the youngster out of action again and again from the end of November 2025. The talent only completed the second round against Alkmaar.

In his young career, Read has made 42 appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring three goals and assisting ten more goals. Read also gained experience in the Europa League (4 appearances/1 goal) and the Champions League (3 appearances).
