The match between NAC and SC Heerenveen was temporarily stopped on Sunday afternoon. In the second half, several torches were thrown onto the field, after which referee Sander van der Eijk sent the players to the dressing room.
After the throwing of torches, a loud whistle concert followed from a large part of the Rat Verlegh Stadium.
For example, supporters of the B-Side sang ‘fuck off and never come back’, and from the main stand and their own section they also sang towards a group that showed annoying behavior in the corner.
Players on the field
That didn’t help much, as in response to the chant, torches were again thrown onto the field.
After about fifteen minutes the players came back onto the field. With three security guards for the group that is still there.
Relegation
Not much later the match was resumed. The match against Heerenveen is a crucial match for the people of Breda. Only a comeback of epic proportions can save the team from relegation.
In order not to be relegated on Sunday evening, NAC must not only beat the Frisians, but also have to beat them generously.
