If head coach Nicolej Krickau’s team and SG Flensburg-Handewitt lose against Lemgo, the SCM could be crowned German champions this evening. However, SG Flensburg-Handewitt won 38:30 against Lemgo in the early game and thus postponed the decision about the championship. The Füchse Berlin are currently in great shape. After their cup win against Bergischer HC (42:33), things also went well in the Bundesliga and internationally. After a 28:26 win against VfL Gummersbach, there was first a 34:35 defeat against KC Veszprém. In the second leg of the playoffs in the Champions League, the German team managed a 35:33 victory in the seven-meter throw and reached the Final Four of the Champions League.

THW Kiel has only won one of the last five games in the Bundesliga. There was only a confident 34:27 win against Hamburger SV. This was followed by a 28:28 draw against Leipzig and last Sunday a 25:33 defeat against HSG Wetzlar. This means that head coach Filip Jicha’s team is in fifth place in the handball Bundesliga with just 40 points. The dreams of a championship have long since ended, but the North Germans still have hope of a title this season. The Zebras prevailed in the playoffs of the European League during the week after a 30:33 defeat in the first leg, with a 34:29 victory in the second leg in a seven-meter throw against the Croatian team RK Nasice. With the victory, Kiel moved into the Final Four of the European League in Hamburg. With this success behind them, the North Germans now want to end their winless streak in the Bundesliga against Berlin.
