Championship fight in England remains exciting: furious top game in Manchester without a winner

Liverpool still within striking distance

In the top game in the Premier League between leaders and defending champions Manchester City and second in the table Liverpool there was no winner on Sunday. The two top teams separated 2:2 (2:1). This means that Man City, coached by Pep Guardiola, remains at the top of the table and is still one point ahead of the Reds of coach Jürgen Klopp.

Kevin De Bruyne (5th minute) and Gabriel Jesus (36th) put the home side ahead twice at the Etihad Stadium. Liverpool equalized in the fast-paced and high-class game with Diogo Jota (13th) and Sadio Mané (46th). A supposed third goal to put Raheem Sterling back in the lead for City was disallowed by the video assistant for being offside.
