Ex-DFB star leads LA Galaxy to victory

As a joker, former Bundesliga professional Marco Reus led Los Angeles Galaxy to victory in the North American soccer league MLS. After coming on as a substitute, the former Gladbach and BVB professional scored both goals in the 2-1 win at Atlanta United.
Atlanta initially took the lead: Jay Fortune scored for the home team in the 69th minute, just four turns after Reus’ substitution. Brazilian striker Gabriel Pec then turned the game around with two goals in the 74th and 79th minutes. Both times Reus placed the ball precisely. For the Galaxy it was their fourth win of the season in their twelfth game.
Los Angeles is in eighth place in the Western Conference with 16 points. The San José Earthquakes are at the top with 29 points, followed by the Vancouver Whitecaps with 26. In the top game of the day, both teams tied 1-1. The German attackers Timo Werner and Thomas Müller were not used – Werner due to an injury, Müller due to illness.
