Parrot Cleo saw his chance on Saturday when the back door was briefly open. He flew outside and landed eight meters high in a tree on Acacialaan in Diessen. The fire brigade had to be involved.
The parrot attracted a lot of attention in the neighborhood. Under the supervision of the fire brigade, his owner went up with an aerial work platform. They tried to lure Cleo with nuts, but to no avail.
Eventually the owner managed to remove his bird from the branch. Cleo came back down to loud applause from the neighborhood. He is safe in his own cage again.
