It’s a long way from Liam Gallagher’s categorical rejection to the official announcement. In 2024, the musician wrote on As it turns out, they found time for both: Steven Knight’s as-yet-untitled Oasis-Documentary officially hits select theaters on September 11th.
“I can’t wait for the world to see this film,” Knight said in a statement. “I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two extraordinary people. I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band – but just as important is the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever. It is also the story of how music and songwriting can bring generations, cultures and countries together – giving us a reason for hope in a time of hostility and division.”
Produced by Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the documentary will feature interviews with both Liam and Noel Gallagher – their first together in more than two decades. The film focuses on their reunion tour Oasis Live ’25: 41 concert performances, the first joint tour since 2009, between July and November 2025.
Knight on the Gallaghers
“They give quote after quote, they’re just so funny,” Knight previously said of the interviews with the Gallagher brothers for the documentary. In a conversation on “Project Big Screen,” the producer described the film as “phenomenal” and hinted that a version already exists that is an ambitious four hours long.
After the final version is released in theaters, the Oasis documentary will be available to watch on Disney+ and Hulu.
