You’re a real fan and that’s OK, but you’re defending things that have put the VFL in this position and that didn’t just happen yesterday. It’s not the case that everything will get better NOW, I’ve been hearing and reading such cheese in the Bochum area for 30 years

For comparison Elversberg or others
It’s not about planning success on the drawing board, although I am of the opinion that if there is a plan in place, the right people at the control points, then you can develop something even with little money and that’s exactly the point. Having almost double the budget as Elversberg, not creating any value in the squad (I don’t count Lenz in that) and putting together a squad with rather average talent is not an achievement but a failure on the part of those in charge. I can’t accept that with the environment because on the one hand the media is neither particularly interested here (which is part of the problem) nor is there a constant noise in the forest like at Schalke or at HSV! Here you can work in peace, but unfortunately it’s often too quiet.
Let’s be honest: Sissoko, Vogt (what a stock for the future), Sobotka (35 minutes of playing time), Alfa (mega talent from Leverkusen), Loosli and Strompf (some of the things they played together are not suitable for the 2nd league) Obafemi wtf., Kleine Bekel, Clairicia ……………… and and and
These are just the bombshells of this season and I’ve seen a few of them in recent years. So of course you can burn your coal and say “yes, it’s a difficult environment” …..”we are in a state of change (for 5 years)”

Of course you can establish a brand here and not the “Vonne Castroper” and no, you don’t have to be like St. Pauli but you have to have something of your own, you’ve had enough time in the last 30 years. But what’s the point of having “a difficult environment…” so you chatter away and are totally surprised that you’re standing where you are.

So it’s not about the money and there are options, but unfortunately there are no people who are willing to look for and take this path.

You’re talking about a current cut, but unfortunately Bochum constantly has these breaks and upheavals, also due to the issue of loan players, and I’m not talking about developing 1-2 very good players and selling them off for a lot of money. Nothing is created here, nothing that has a future, you work from hand to mouth and that is ultimately the difference to Elversberg-Heidenheim and others

Sorry, building a structure? At an established club that has even played in the top league in recent years? Your advantage over other clubs that don’t have this gift (1st league was a gift) should be a basic structure, a foundation that you can work with.
You can’t honestly say that everything is getting better in the scouting department NOW (also something I’ve been hearing for ages) where has VFL Bochum been the last 15 years???

This is not due to the tension between Dortmund and Gelsenkirchen, it is not due to the money that others have managed to do with less, it is not due to the stadium or the fans……..

11 people in the presidium and board, 12 people in the economic council (also a “let’s do something” thing) there are some who don’t care about the VFL as long as you have something to say, a door sign and attention, otherwise they can’t do ANYTHING

These are by no means all the problems………………..

I think it’s good that you’re fighting for YOUR club, but unfortunately too many people here have the club glasses on and live in this “We’re a small club, we don’t have any other options, everything isn’t going so badly and NOW we’re starting to make innovations and that takes time” world

In the Zeischen era, Freiburg has blossomed into an established club with a considerable budget, clubs like Heidenheim have overtaken Bochum with inspiration and innovation and a mini club like Elversberg is currently running away. ………………….. “far as before, only different” is of course the right moto
