Busy after King’s Day
Waste is also located next to the containers on Amberlaan. In addition to garbage bags, people place bulky waste there, such as old sofas, carpets and chairs. This is dirt for which residents must make a separate appointment via the municipality’s website, but which, according to local residents, does not happen. And local residents hope that the municipality will intervene quickly.
The municipality confirms that it has not collected the waste everywhere in recent days: “It is true that there is a backlog, which was due to an unfortunate set of circumstances. In addition to illness, a broken waste compactor also played a role, which left us with full carts.”
Everything will be clean on May 8
In addition, according to the municipality, this period is always busier due to bulky waste that is placed next to containers after King’s Day. “In principle, this can be planned, but illness and a broken waste compactor do not help,” says a spokesperson for the municipality. It is promised that all bulky waste will be collected and all containers will be emptied on May 8.
