“More than deserve it”
Coach confirms farewell: Trio leaves Bundesliga club

Hoffenheim can still make it into the “premier league” via the Bundesliga. Three deserving players will say goodbye to TSG against Bremen.
TSG Hoffenheim and its long-time top performers Ihlas Bebou, Grischa Prömel and Kevin Akpoguma are going their separate ways at the end of the current Bundesliga season. On Saturday, the trio will say goodbye before the home game against Werder Bremen in Sinsheim (from 3:30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online), as coach Christian Ilzer announced. “They more than deserve to be given a dignified farewell. All three are extremely professional, as they still approach the matter,” said Ilzer.
The 32-year-old Bebou has been at TSG since 2019. Defensive player Akpoguma has even been with the club since 2013 – with several loan spells in between. Prömel has already been linked with a move to VfB Stuttgart. Ilzer said about the 31-year-old: “I can only confirm that his contract will not be extended with him. For me, Grischa is vice-captain, he is a ringleader of this team.”
For Hoffenheim, the last two games of the season are about qualifying for the Champions League. The club from Sinsheim is in sixth place in the table two match days before the end of the season. With 58 points, TSG is only behind Bayer Leverkusen (4th) and VfB Stuttgart (5th) due to the worse goal difference.
